This year, you can opt for the Denali Black Edition package. It will make your GMC Canyon even more eye-catching, giving it blacked-out exterior details. New GMC Canyon Performance Stats

If you choose the Elevation Standard or Elevation trim, your Canyon will come standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. Paired with it is a six-speed automatic transmission. Optional on those trims, while standard on the AT4 and Denali, is a 3.6-liter V6. It gives the truck the ability to make 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. GMC opts to give this engine an eight-speed automatic transmission. Select trims are eligible for a turbo 2.8-liter diesel that puts out 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque as well. Rear-wheel drive is the standard setup for all but the AT4, which is available exclusively with four-wheel drive. The remaining three trims can upgrade to 4WD as well.

Towing Capabilities of the GMC Canyon

The Canyon can have you towing 3,500 pounds with its standard engine. Many drivers find this to be more than enough for their needs. If you opt for a V6 model, your Canyon can tow up to 7,000 pounds when properly equipped. However, if you are after the most towing capability possible, know that diesel models with the proper equipment can handle up to 7,700 pounds.

New Canyon Safety Features

You can feel safer as you make your way around town in the 2022 Canyon, thanks to its available safety features. This truck can come equipped with lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and rear parking sensors. Additionally, all trim levels arrive equipped with the popular Teen Driver program and a convenient rearview camera to help you get out of the driveway with confidence.

Technology Features

You will love the standard tech inside the Canyon, which includes things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Elevation Standard also includes a 7-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker sound system. If you decide that you deserve the luxury found in the Denali trim, your Canyon will upgrade to an 8-inch touchscreen and a premium audio setup from Bose. Select models are also available with navigation, wireless device charging, and extra USB ports to help things go smoothly inside the Canyon.

Off-Road Capability
